Five Tips for Giving A Memorable Bridal Shower Gift

Choosing a bridal shower gift can be an easy and mindless task – you choose something off the couple’s registry, wrap it and you’re done. But what if you could turn that moment into something that’s memorable for the bride, groom and even their guests?

To me, gift giving is an opportunity to get creative and show your love by tailoring the items to your recipient. I recently went to my bestie’s bridal shower and decided to go a little off script when it came to the gift and it definitely paid off!

I’ve included a few bridal shower gift giving tips below to help you create a one-of-a-kind gift you’ll actually be excited to give. And of course, a bonus outfit idea that will make you look as great as you’ll feel 😁.

Bridal Shower Gift Giving Tips:
  1. Give it a theme: Try to bundle your gifts into a theme. For example, when searching for my friend Kari’s gift, I took a look at her kitchen wish list and then built off that to curate a wholesome gift set. Think of it as if you were creating a gift basket of necessities for a particular room.
  2. Add something personalized: Some of my favorite gifts were the ones that were personalized with my new last name or initials. It creates a special, exciting moment and is likely the first time the couple will start thinking about collecting items with their new name. For the example below, I sought out a fun apron that was on brand for my friend and personalized it with her new last name – she loved it and was really touched by the thought.
  3. Mix and match: Yes, it’s easy to stick to one store and pick out the item that best fits within your budget, however, don’t be afraid to take a look at some of the other stores on her list before you check-out. You could find a gift that you fancy more, or find a gift that would fit perfectly into a set.
  4. Go off script: While probably the most risky of these bridal shower gift giving tips, it has the potential of being a highlight for the couple.  Just because an item isn’t on the couple’s registry, doesn’t mean you have to avoid it altogether. The apron is a perfect example – it pulled together the whole gift! For my shower, my friend got us a champagne bottle that had our new name and wedding date on it which I absolutely loved. We plan to toast with it on our one year anniversary and then keep the bottle as a keepsake, of course!
  5. Pay attention to the colors: Most couples choose their desired bathroom, bedroom and kitchen color scheme during the registration process so if you do go off script and purchase something outside the registry, make sure you stick to the color palettes of the items on their list.
