I’ve been shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale for years now. I’ll admit, I’ve even been guilty of waking up at 2 a.m., when the sale goes live online, just to secure the items I love
. Also, I think Ryan just realized my shopping addiction is much more of a problem than he initially thought. 
But you guys, it’s SO good I can’t help it! I’ve included all the details you need to know about the sale including what it is, why’s it’s a big deal, dates you need to know and a preview of some of my fave items this year below. Once the sale is live, I’ll post my personal favorites when it comes to shoes, handbags, work out gear, beauty – All. Of. The. Things. I may even do a little try on sesh on my Insta stories 🙂

So, what’s the big deal?
Most sales mark down end-of-season items, but this is the only sale of the year that marks down on NEW items that have yet to hit shelves. This is the time to score big on the newest fall staples like boots, booties, jeans, coats and of course, comfy, cozy oversized sweaters. I typically go for the coats and shoes since I know I’ll be needing them in the fall and winter seasons to come and I can get a great discount before the price shoots up.
When is it?
The sale starts on July 20 and ends on August 5. Nordstrom cardholders can start shopping Early Access on July 12 (Yipeee!).
How do I become a cardholder?
If you aren’t opposed to having another card and if you shop at Nordstrom often, opening up a Nordstrom credit card is definitely worth it in my opinion. You get 2 points per dollar when you shop at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, and HauteLook. PLUS, you get to shop during Anniversary Sale Early Access, have a day that you can dedicate for triple points and get free alterations. For every 2,000 points, you get a $20 credit (called a Nordstrom Note) that you can spend on anything in the store. If you aren’t a fan of credit cards, you can sign up for their free reward program, where you get 1 point for every dollar you spend.

Any tips?
- If you follow other bloggers you know that everyone is talking about the sale and it’s easy to feel like you absolutely need everything, but you don’t. I use this sale to purchase investment pieces – mostly shoes and coats for the fall season.
- Which brings me to my next point, take some time to do an inventory of your closet and determine what you absolutely NEED and what you can pass on. If I don’t do this I end up falling in love with something that’s very similar to what I already have.
- Set a budget and a limit. You’re bound to want a lot of things, but setting a budget will help you prioritize and note overspend. Remember this is the first look at fall items but there will be more in the coming months so don’t blow all your cash in one place. Another reason to just shop for the investment pieces!
- Things will go FAST, so if there is something that you like, buy it. You can always return it!
- If you have a Nordstrom card, take advantage of the triple points day during the sale time.

I got a similar pair to the below during last year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (except they were Halogen) and I actually wore them a lot with fall/winter dresses and skirts or over-sized cardigans. Great deal for Sam’s and worth the purchase if you need some!

Looks like the mule trend is carrying into the fall season. I’m not a huge fan, but I’m going to give them a try with one of these pairs to see if they’re a keeper.
Comfy, cozy cardigans and pumpkin spice latte’s here we go. Will be trying this cute sweater out as well on Thursday. Looks like it’ll go great under cami’s and also over casual dresses.
I’ve been searching for a hat like this for a while so will definitely be giving this one a try! It also comes in a pretty camel color that isn’t pictured right now.
