Last Minute Gift Ideas: The Ultimate Guide

Christmas is less than a week away and I’m officially scrambling to get some last-minute-shopping done! Anyone else?! If you usually wait until the eleventh hour to find the perfect gift, there’s some good news – I have eleven last minute gift ideas for you below AND there are a few stores playing Santa to ensure that your gifts arrive in time for the big day 🎅

I’ve pulled together a quick gift guide with my favorite last minute gift ideas arriving by Christmas Eve. Just make sure that you pay attention to the deadline for when you have to place the order as most of these require you to order by tomorrow at the latest. Another tip when shopping late, see if there is an option to order the item online and pick it up at a store near you. That way, you avoid shipping all together – win, win!

Are you still shopping for last minute gifts? Anyone you’re stuck on in particular? Let me know – maybe I can help with some more personalized last minute gift ideas!

Last Minute Gift Ideas - The Hostess Notes
  1. Moscow Mule Copper Mugs Set Of 4: This is a great gift for the hostess, for a white elephant gift, or a mother-in-law/family member. If you want to plus this gift up you can pair it with the ingredients to make the mules.
  2. Quartz Roller: Another great gift for the hostess, or a cute stocking stuffer –  I mean we could all use a little self-love after the holidays, am I right? Pair this with some warm socks, candles or good book and some face masks for a cute wholesome gift.
  3. Essential Oil Diffuser: These are all the rage lately and after playing around with the different scents on my friend’s diffuser, I was sold! This is a great gift idea for those that need to take a little time for themselves, or for those that have trouble falling asleep. To plus this gift up, pair it with a few essential oils, or this cozy blanket.
  4. Wireless headphones: I feel like this is something everyone has nowadays and this price is a steal! It’s a great gift for anyone that loves to workout, listens to music, or is on the phone a lot.
  5. Mini Speaker + Merry Lights iPhone Charger cord: The white elephant or stocking stuffer gift that is combines function and fun into one! The mini speaker is cute and portable and the phone charger is a must for all the Christmas-moment lovers out there 😁
  6. Pajama pants and slippers: Is it just me, or are these two things that men just don’t like buying themselves?! I’ve bought pajama pants for both my dad and husband every year because it just seems like a staple item they both constantly don’t have enough of! Maybe it’s just us ladies that fully understand the beauty of comfort!
  7. Oversized sweaters (love this one and this one): If you’ve been following these gift guide/round-ups, one thing that you’ll continue to see pop up is oversized, comfy sweaters that can be worn with leather leggings or leggings in general. It’s one of the best last minute gift ideas in my opinion, and these options can be dressed up or down into the new year. Pair with a cute hat and you’re good to go!
  8. Joggers (or leggings) + tee: An easy, comfy gift that’s under $50 – you can’t go wrong with that! These are the perfect jammies for Christmas morning, or can also be worn out.  The joggers are great for running errands and the long-sleeve tee is cute enough to even be worn to work, either solo or with a scarf.
  9. Uber gift card (via email): I recommended our aunt get this for Ryan last year and it was a hit. He absolutely loved it! If your recipient lives in a city, or frequently takes Ubers/taxi’s over the weekend, this is the ideal gift for them. It’s functional and something different than the traditional Visa card, or money.
  10. Candles and Blanket: Can you ever really go wrong with candles and a blanket? If you fall empty on what to get someone, this is a gift that everyone will enjoy. Pair with a good pair of wine and voila!
  11. Pay off some expenses: Another option instead of just gifting money is to pay off some of your recipient’s expenses – whether it be student loans, books for their upcoming semester, maybe some of their rent.  Either way I’m sure they’ll be happy you helped them make a dent!
