Donut stands have definitely become a hot trend over the last few years and while I love my sweets, nothing beats a good savory snack. One of my faves? Soft pretzels! Drawing inspiration from Oktoberfest, I created a pretzel bar stand filled with all my favorite dairy-free dips and pretzel assortments!
I chose a variety of dips and pretzels to not only add some texture and color to my pretzel bar but also to give people some variety – you can’t go wrong with a combination of sweet and savory treats! You can totally blow this out further and add in some veggies, or maybe even an assortment of beer (do a little beer tasting?).
Ingredients (All from Trader Joe’s!)
- Trader Joe’s Big Soft Pretzels: Found in the freezer section and are seriously DELISH! Best part? It only takes four minutes to make 🙂
- Jalapeno Almond Dip: I’ve talked about this dip in a previous post and yes, I’m still eating it and loving it.
- Chocolate Hummus: One or two of my friends said they tasted a hint of the hummus flavor, but this literally tasted like brownie batter to me – so freaking good!
- Cashew Fiesta Dip: This was my first time trying this dip and it’s true, this dip is SO good and tastes just like cheese dip.
- Vegan Ranch Dip: I eat ranch with everything – pizza, fries, burgers, all the things, so yes, I had to dip my pretzel in it too.
- Whole Grain Dijon Mustard: Tasty and adds a nice pop of color to any platter!
- Everything Pretzel Thins: I love everything bagels and the seasoning, so these were a given.
- Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels: Warning, these are SO freaking addicting!
- Cornichons: Recently found out these are what the mini pickles are called. SO good!
- Spiced Apple Cider: So tasty and addicting! Would be very tasty spiked too 😊
For the décor, I found most of the pieces on Amazon and Marshalls. I really leaned into the natural colors and rustic textures of the fall season, creating a cozy and inviting feel. I originally had ordered a donut stand from Amazon, but it didn’t arrive on time, so I had to improvise last minute and use a wooden basket as the centerpiece. In the end, with the help of my besties, Britt and Kari, the whole pretzel bar stand turned out better than I had ever envisioned and was a huge hit with our friends!
The plan is to go back to Germany during Oktoberfest so I can feast on all the pretzels and German beer I can get our hands-on. Until then, you can find me creating pretzel bar stands at every party! I linked the decor I used at the end of this post if you want to re-create your own pretzel bar stand. And if you do, please send me pics, or tag me on Instagram – @joanna.manning – as I’d love to see your creations!!
