Today I’m sharing gift ideas for college students! And yes, all of these were approved by my college-student sister, Gabby, so you know they’re good! I included items that are practical, useful and ones that serve a purpose for during and after college. The best part? Some of these are still on major discount (if you haven’t checked out my deal post, see here)! I included detail on each of the items below and linked a couple more fashion and beauty-focused finds below my signature!
And if you’re still shopping for a man in your life, or a college guy, check out my “Gift Ideas for Him” post. If there are any specific gift guides you all want to see next, let me now in the comment section!

1.Madewell Tote: This tote has it all – style, durability, spaciousness – everything! It’s a little pricey, but I’ve had mine for four years now and although it’s a little beat up with scratches, I still use it for work, travel and just everyday wear. It comes in a black color as well!
2. Crossbody Phone Case and Wallet: So after almost losing my phone in Portugal, this is definitely on my Christmas wish list for this year! I first saw this on my friend at work and thought it was a brilliant idea – two things you always want to have on you regardless of what you’re doing is your phone and ID card.
3. Everyday Boots: A nice pair of boots is not something that college students want to spend their money on. I used to get the cheapest boots when I was in college and all I cared about was that they looked cute. These Marc Fisher booties are classic and timeless so they’ll get plenty of year-round wear. Plus they’re 25% off right now! Pair these with some socks – the Old Navy ones are my fave.
4. AirPods: Likely the number one item on your students wish list! You can’t go wrong with these – they almost come with a guarantee of a happy student š Pair it with a Spotify gift card to plus this gift up (not that it needs any more upgrading!)!
5. Loving Tan: Literally the best self tanner I’ve found that doesn’t make you look streaky, or orange. College students spend their money on spray tans (especially before big school dances/events), so this will be the perfect alternative. Pair this with this tanning mitt applicator.
6. 2020 Planner: Any planner would work, but this particular one is very popular and said to help improve time management and productivity. Why? The planner is personalized to your needs, detailed, filled with inspiration and helps you track your goals across not just school, but life. Pair this with some colorful pens and folders to help prep them for a fresh year back at school!
7. Personalized name necklace: This necklace is super popular right now and on my list as well! It’s very cute and can be personalized with the student’s name, or nickname. You can also gift a bar necklace – I got Gabby this one as a maid of honor gift and she wears it every day!
8. Soothing alarm clock: My friend actually got this alarm clock for her husband because he was having a hard time waking up (especially with it being so dark in the winter) and he loves it! I thought this would be a great gift for students since it gradually gets lighter helping them feel less groggy in the mornings. With over 1,300 reviews, it has to be helping people wake up on the right side of the bed š
9. Dyson vacuum: With this being on major sale I think it’s worth it, and will be long after they graduate! Plus the fact that it’s cordless makes cleaning way easier for them.
10. Leather leggings: Yes, these are in every single one of my gift guides and it’s because they’re that good. I wear these during the winter months on repeat – it’s just a great way to dress an outfit up while still feeling comfortable. Another gift that you cannot go wrong with.
11. Winter coat: This is one necessity that, similar to shoes, students don’t want to invest in. I love this coat find because it’s affordable (only $60) and comes in a ton of different colors! Another option that is a little pricier, but is on Oprah’s favorites list and Amazon’s best-seller with over 7K reviews is this coat – comes in so many colors too!
12. Cozy Pom-Pom Blanket: The coziest blanket that comes in a few colors and is the perfect throw over their couch, or bed. Plus, it’s on sale! Plus this up with a pair of slippers, or this cute mug!
13. Carry-on suitcase: This was another necessity that Gabby asked my parents for a few months ago, because it’s much easier to travel back and forth (even while driving) with a suitcase than a bunch of overnight bags. This one is on sale and comes in a ton of different colors! Plus, it’s another item that they’ll use long after graduation.
14. Slippers & PJ Pants: This combination is a dream. The slippers are so cozy and soft and I can’t rave about these pants enough. I own three pairs because they’re SO soft and comfortable. I convinced Gabby to get a pair during Black Friday and she actually said that she may wear them to class! Warning: You’ll want a pair for yourself after you feel them.
