I wanted to create a table setting that was festive yet elegant, so while I pulled through the holiday colors in my décor, I kept the American flag décor to a minimum. That said, if you’re looking for something a little more festive, consider adding a flag to the flower arrangement for that subtle pop!
To add some pattern, I went with this blue and white paisley tablecloth and added solid color napkins as the accent. The napkins are under $10, come in a pack of six and are available in every color under the sun. I like the nice pop of color they bring against all the blue.
My favorite part of the tablescape, these chargers! I was playing around with these at the store and as soon as I saw how beautiful they looked with a white plate against the cognac hue, I knew there was no going back – I had to have them! The color and texture of these chargers adds a natural accent to the table setting, creating a warm, inviting look.
Next up, these Nantucket plates. We only own square-shaped plates, so I did have to purchase these, but since most chargers hold round plates I figured it was worth the spend. Both the plates and the chargers will definitely be repurposed several more times this summer and even into the fall.
I wanted to add a unique element to my tablescape and these mini picnic baskets scream summertime to me. I will admit, when I first saw these, I told Ryan they must have thought this order was for my 2-year-old niece because they are SO tiny. But, after seeing them out on the table, they grew on me. They actually fit a handful of blueberries – perfect portion control, haha! In all seriousness, these are such a minute detail but I really feel like they pull the whole look together.
Finally, the centerpiece. Now for those of you who saw me take a flower making class this weekend, this bouquet was put together the day before I learned all the tricks and tips so prepare to be blown away on the next floral tablescape 😊 I didn’t want to over-do it with a huge centerpiece since the tablecloth and chargers already make a statement, so I decided to stick with a smaller arrangement. I chose red to correlate with the napkins, adding a nice balance of colors all around. I used a gold julep cup for the vase to add a bit of elegance and surrounded the vase with candle holders and mini succulents (from the Target dollar section – the best!).
I linked all the items I used to create this easy Fourth of July tablescape below! What are hosting for the fourth? Let me know what you guys think 🇺🇸
